$1,000 to a boy MHS Water Polo Player

$1,000 to a girl MHS Water Polo Player

Applications for the 2025-2026 school year are now open.   The application submission deadline is January 31, 2026.  Please submit your application as soon as possible!

Description:

Starting with the 2022-2023 school year, funding was provided to the Spring Branch Education Foundation in order to award two scholarships to Memorial High School water polo student-athletes.  Scholarships are awarded to students and paid to the student-athlete's chosen college in order to pay a portion of tuition and fees.  The 2025-2026 school year is the fourth year for the Mustang Water Polo Scholarship!

Selection criteria:

* Selection committee family members are ineligible for this scholarship. 

1) MHS Water Polo: The scholarship will be awarded to one or more MHS Water Polo player(s).  Preference will be given to student-athletes that have demonstrated commitment to the MHS Water Polo program.

2) Personal Statement, the student-athlete's response to the prompt: "How has MHS Water Polo shaped you as a person?"

3) Academic Record: The student-athlete's academic record (class rank and year of graduation).  Preference will be given to Senior students.

4) Community Service Record: The student-athlete's community service record.

The selection committee will award the scholarship to one boy and one girl.  Should no suitable students apply, the scholarship(s) will be awarded as determined by the selection committee.
